It’s not often you see a Whimsie with such curly brown hair. Just look at this one! Isn’t she cute? My hair is long enough to take a curl, but I don’t think I could ever get curls as crazy as this! What a unique and wonderful look! And her cheeks—so rosy. What a beautiful Whimsie!
But of course that’s not all there is to talk about. Look how she’s dressed, like a Fairy Princess. At Halloween, Tessie dressed like a Fairy Princess, and while her interpretation was so much fun, this one is also! I love the crinoline skirt, in a color that almost matches her hair. And pink ribbons at her shoulders! How about those tights, with ballerina slippers on her feet? Oh, she is playing the part so well!
And the crowning glory—those magnificent large wings just behind her! They are so big, and look so light, that you almost believe she could fly away after granting your special wish.
I’m guessing this was a Halloween costume (just like Tessie’s) because there are orange leaves and a pumpkin in the corner. That tells me the picture was taken in Autumn, very likely October, just around Halloween. I wonder if this Whimsie went trick-or-treating, and if she did, what kinds of treats did she get? Whimsies don’t eat candy, so I hope if she got any, she gave it to her Person. I’m sure her Person is a Good Person, because someone obviously put a lot of time and effort into putting together this beautiful outfit for this lucky Whimsie. I’m sure this Whimsie realizes how lucky she is to have such a caring and creative Person, and would gladly share her candy, if she got any.
I think every Whimsie has a bit of the Fairy Princess in her, and this picture exemplifies that perfectly. I’m so inspired, I think next Halloween I shall ask Tessie if I can wear her Fairy Princess outfit. I’m sure she’ll be kind enough to share. I just wonder if she’ll want to put on my Pumpkin Suit! Or perhaps by then, we’ll have new costumes for our special dress-up holiday.
In the meantime, I’m going On-Line to look for more pictures of pretty Whimsies like this one, as inspiration not only for Halloween, but also for our everyday lives. We can see and learn so many delightful things when we venture into the Wonderful World of Whimsies!
This morning I woke up earlier than anybody else, and stayed in bed a while, listening to the birds chirping outside my window. It suddenly occurred to me that it has been a long time since I’ve heard or seen birds, so I crept to the window and looked outside and sure enough, there were birds busily feeding! Miss Chrissy has left a feeder out for them all Winter, though there haven’t been many visitors. But this morning I saw some cute little gray birds, pecking away at the seed.
I wanted to see the birds, so I stopped by the feeder, but of course, if you come near the feeder, the birds fly away. They’re very skittish like that. But I asked Miss Chrissy to take this picture of me, just so I could post it here, to always remember how crisp and wonderful it felt on this Winter morning, when the promise of Spring is hovering around the edges of the day.
Here in Whimsieville, it strikes me that the seasons are just about right. In the Winter, it doesn’t snow so much that it becomes tiresome (or worse yet, dangerous!) and our Summers are not generally so hot for so long that we despair of ever again feeling cool and comfortable. Autumn and Spring have much to recommend them. I do so love the repeating “Circle of Life!”
hair, which is sort of red, and orange is also sort of red, but our hair is not red in the same way. Still, we are all Whimsies, so in some way you could say we are all sisters. We all have the same freckles on our noses, and with all that red hair, those freckles look just darling on this red-headed Whimsie! Oh! And her saucy bangs are just so cute!
As I mentioned, this Whimsie was seen at the E-Bay Adoption Agency a while ago, and then…she was not seen anymore. Which probably means that someone did indeed adopted her. I hope she went to a nice home, full of people who love Whimsies, and love read-heads, and love Summer. Some of the Whimsies we see at the Adoption Agency do not look as pretty and healthy as this one, and I sometimes worry that they will not find
First of all, check me out in my snazzy new hat! It’s certainly roomy enough, so I thought I would try tucking my braids inside, and doesn’t it make me look so completely different? In some ways I think I look like one of Santa’s elves in this hat (tee hee…) but at the same time, I also think it’s a very sophisticated look. Sort of French…no? Especially with this very plain but very bright outfit in red and white. The stretch red pants fit perfectly, and will go with so many things—perhaps best of all with this plain white top with long sleeves. Since it is February, and the middle of Winter, we all decided to stick with long-sleeved shirts for this Fashion Show. But as we all know, white can be very chic. And don’t I look tres chic? And besides being extremely fashionable, I’m also incredibly comfortable in this outfit! I could hang out like this all day! (My white and red socks are especially soft and comfy!)
Now check out Tillie. She is once again throwing caution to the wind and experimenting with the color YELLOW. Yes, I know we have all agreed that nobody looks good in the color yellow…but tell that to Tillie in her cute little yellow flowered pants! I think the trick with yellow is to keep it away from your face, since it drains the complexion. But as part of a summery flowered design on pants, it’s simply fabulous! And to make sure the whole look doesn’t get too busy, Tillie chooses a simple white long sleeved top. The pants may scream “Summer!” but it is in fact still the middle of Winter. So this outfit is sort of like the HOPE of Spring, which is on the way. And the light violet hat and socks (which were already in our Wardrobe) add a hint of gentle drama.
