A little while ago I was at the E-Bay Adoption Agency listings and saw this cute little redheaded Whimsie who was looking for a home. I have never before seen a Whimsie with such red hair! Well, actually, I think you would say her hair is orange. Trix and I have pink hair, which is sort of red, and orange is also sort of red, but our hair is not red in the same way. Still, we are all Whimsies, so in some way you could say we are all sisters. We all have the same freckles on our noses, and with all that red hair, those freckles look just darling on this red-headed Whimsie! Oh! And her saucy bangs are just so cute!
This beautiful Whimsie looks to me like she would would be fun girl to know. I just love her outfit with red and white stripes and blue pants. Are those blue jeans? She looks so patriotic, like she’s ready for a summer picnic, especially with those ribbons in her hair! The ribbons are yellow, which is shocking, since we Whimsies generally believe that nobody looks good in yellow, but yellow ribbons in orange hair seems just about right, don’t you think?
We can only see this Whimsie sitting down, but I have a feeling if she were to stand up, she would be taller than either me, or Trixie or Tillie. She looks taller, and maybe even older. Her feet look really big, too, Maybe it’s just because her feet are the closest thing to the camera, but I bet if she were wearing shoes, she would need a bigger pair of shoes than fits me and Trixie and Tillie.
But shoes would not be appropriate for this Whimsie in this outfit. Even though it is the middle of Winter in Whimsieville, this red-headed Whimsie is dressed like it’s the middle of summer and she is heading out to a picnic where she will roast marshmallows on the fire, play kickball in the street with all her cousins all afternoon, and catch lightning bugs in a jar after dark. Every season has its own particular charms, and red-headed Whimsie looks all ready for the charms of Summer.
As I mentioned, this Whimsie was seen at the E-Bay Adoption Agency a while ago, and then…she was not seen anymore. Which probably means that someone did indeed adopted her. I hope she went to a nice home, full of people who love Whimsies, and love read-heads, and love Summer. Some of the Whimsies we see at the Adoption Agency do not look as pretty and healthy as this one, and I sometimes worry that they will not find good homes. It makes me sad to think of it. But then it also makes me sad to think of all the kitty kats that never find good homes. And all the puppies.
I think I could work myself up into being totally depressed, if I stopped to think about all this for too long. I am trying to convince Miss Chrissy that at some point we should adopt another Whimsie from the Adoption Agency, so we can feel that we are all doing our part to make the world a better place. I also have hinted to Miss Chrissy that maybe Mr. Squee would like a little kitty kat to hang out with, one of his own kind. Me and Trix and Till have each other, and Miss Chrissy and The Man have each other, but Mr. Squee has no one. Miss Chrissy replies that Mr. Squee seems to be just fine that way. Sometimes he’s….well, not anti-social, he’s just not as social and Whimsies and People usually like to be.
So, we shall see what will happen in the future. New residents of Whimsieville any time soon? Who knows? Right now, we are all quite content in our happy home, and I believe little Miss Red-Head has also probably gone to a good home. But I sure should love to meet her someday, and if we could spend some Summer evening together, catching lightning bugs in a jar, I think that would be the most fun ever.
