pirate2pirate1Ahoy, mateys! Trixie here! And today I’m a pirate. AAARRRGH!!! Because Miss Chrissy bought a purse at a yard sale, and this groovy eyepatch was in the bottom. The purse was a cotton bag with a long strap and lots of colors and sparkles on the outside, and Miss Chrissy said someone probably took it to a RenFest. That’s why there was an eyepatch inside. So I asked if I could use the eyepatch, and found this bandana, and put on the striped shirt and behold! Pirate Trixie!!

Scary!!! No?

…no?…

Oh well…you can’t blame me for trying. šŸ™‚

bagladyMy turn! My turn! Tillie and Trixie already got to show you some of their favorite hats, so now it’s me, Tessie, presenting what I call my “Bag Lady” hat. I have never really known any Bag Ladies, but I’ve seen them in movies, and the first time I put this hat on, I just had to giggle at myself, because I thought it made me look like a Bag Lady.

I have an outfit that goes with this hat that really completes the look, so maybe some time int he future I’ll show you the whole…ensemble.

This hat is big and soft and comfortable, and if there’s one thing I love about clothes, it’s COMFORT. It also has some nice brown stripes on the back, or, you can wear it inside out and it’s all green. So it’s sort of like two hats in one!

So, let’s review: big, soft, comfortable, two hats in one! Yep, I think I’ll keep this one! Even if I’m not a Bag Lady…

Tuesday night after watching Marvel’s Agents of Shield, the Whimsies were strangely quiet and pensive. I asked if anything was wrong, and they asked a few questions about Skye. We discussed some possibilities about what might be going on with her character, and I thought everything was settled, but then, when I woke up in the middle of the night, I could hear the Whimsies whispering about the show. This is what I heard:

TESSAVATARtiliconTRIXIEICONTessie. Pssst! Hey, Till! Trix! Whatta ya think?

Tillie (sleepily) Whatta we think about what?

Trixie. Huh?

Tessie. About Skye?

Tillie. (exasperated) Tessie! Are you still worried about that?

Trixie. (wide awake) Well…I’m sort of worried too.

Tillie. There’s nothing to be worried about, Trix.SKYE

Tessie. But she’s a double agent!

Trixie. Yeah…What if she does something to hurt the others?

Tillie. Now wait a minute, you two. You heard what Miss Chrissy said. We don’t know anything for sure yet.

Trixie. That’s true. But what do you think is most LIKELY?

Tessie. Good question, Trix! Whatta ya think? I mean…is it going to end good…or bad?

Trixie. I like Skye. She’s really pretty, but she’s also kinda goofy sometimes, so I don’t mind her being so pretty. But I don’t like her enough to put everyone else in danger!

Tillie. Stop worrying, you big silly! There’s no danger. At least not yet.RASPUTIN

Tessie. But you heard what Nick Fury said! He told Agent Coulson she couldn’t be trusted.

Tillie. And Agent Coulson said, yes, he knew that. But you know he isn’t going to let anything bad happen.

Trixie. (nodding) He’s very smart.

Tessie. And he’s magical.

Tillie. He is?

Tessie. Well…he’s been to Tahiti. And that’s a magical place.

Tillie. There’s no magic about it, Tess. Coulson’s smart. And he has everything under control.

Tessie. But what about that other thing Miss Chrissy said? About Skye maybe being….a TRIPLE agent?

Trixie. Right! I mean, Skye didn’t look very happy when she texted her Rising Tide friend. Maybe she’s not really on board with the Rising Tide so much anymore.

Tessie. That’s the way it looked to me.

Tillie. Me too.

(Three Whimsies pause a moment, pondering. Then…)

Trixie. So what did it mean…when she said ā€œI’m inā€?

Tillie. It could mean so many different things.

Tessie. Like…it could mean….ā€I got into SHIELD, now I can destroy them from the inside!ā€

Trixie. That’s what I’m afraid of!

Tillie. OR…it could meanā€¦ā€I’m on board with whatever the Rising Tide is planning next.ā€ And maybe she really means that—

Tessie. Or maybe she doesn’t! Maybe she’s starting to like her new friends at SHIELD and really doesn’t want anything bad to happen to them.

Trixie. Maybe she’ll rat out the Rising Tide to SHIELD!!

Tillie. Wait a minute! Think about this: We don’t know anything about the Rising Tide. We don’t really know if they’re good or bad. Maybe they’re good guys too.

Trixie. You think? I don’t know…

Tessie. Well, here’s something to think about. That person that sent her that message, were they really from the Rising Tide?

Tillie. (puzzled) Why wouldn’t they be?

Tessie. Because they said, ā€œThe Rising Tide is in a holding pattern.ā€

Trixie. So?

Tessie. So….if it’s someone from the Rising Tide, and Skye KNOWS its them, why do they say, ā€œRising Tideā€? Why not just say ā€œWe’re in a holding pattern.ā€ Or even just, ā€œIn holding patternā€?

Tillie. Good point, Tess! We’ve never texted, but we know a little about how it’s done. You don’t get all verbose and flowery about it. You try to make your messages short and to the point.

Trixie. Verbose?

Tillie. Flowery…

Tessie. Right! And why would someone who’s IN the Rising Tide say ā€œThe Rising Tideā€?

Trixie. Ooh! Ooh! I know this one!

Tillie. You do?DocOctMU3

Trixie. Sure! This happens in Comics all the time. Like, if Doctor Octopus is not pleased, he doesn’t say, ā€œI’m not pleased.ā€ He says, (in a big strong voice) ā€œDoctor Octopus is not pleased.ā€

Tillie. Oh, well that’s just great!

Trixie. It is?

Tillie. No, it’s NOT.

Tessie. Why not?

Tillie. Because if you think about it, the only people who use their own name when they’re talking about themselves are the VILLAINS!! Good people don’t talk about themselves that way.

(The three Whimsies think…worried…)

Trixie. (suddenly) No, wait! That’s not true! Sometimes Johnny Storm refers to himself as ā€œLittle Johnny.ā€

Tessie. He does?

Trixie. Yeah, he does.

(They all breath a sigh of relief…)

Tessie. So then…that doesn’t necessarily prove anything.

Tillie. That’s right. I think ANYTHING is possible at this point. It’s way too early yet for us to know what’s going on.

Trixie. Yeah. And besides, remember what Miss Chrissy said about the director, Joss Whedon? Remember what she told us about when he did that Buffy show?

Tillie. You can never be sure, and you never know what’s going to happen next.

Tessie. And the most obvious answer is probably not the answer at all.

Trixie. Except when it is, because he KNOWS you won’t think it’s the answer, so he makes that the answer…and then you’re surprised that it was really that easy!

Tillie. It’s just good storytelling, to keep the audience guessing.

Tessie. So I guess we’ll have to keep watching to find out.

Tillie. Maybe we’ll find out something more. Maybe not.

Trixie. Well….you know what I want to find out?

Tessie. Something else about Skye?

Trixie. No.

Tillie. (rolling her eyes) Then it must be something about Thor!OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Trixie. (also rolling her eyes) NO. I want to find out about that fish tank.
(Three Whimsies giggle, then sigh….)
Tessie. Yeah….how cool would that be…to have a plane with a fish tank….

(They sigh again, then settle down, and finally go back to sleep, dreaming about flying on a plane that has a fish tank.)

carebearHi, everyone! It’s me, Trixie, showing you a hat that I really love. It’s furry fluffy white, and there’s a Care Bear on the front! Who remembers Care Bears? We knew a lot of them in The Hoard, and they were always very friendly and fun to hang around with. So I like to wear this hat to remind me of the good things that we experienced in The Hoard. (Mostly it wasn’t good, but somehow we managed to make fun good stuff happen anyway.)

There are no Care Bears here in Whimsieville (except on my hat), but there are some trolls, and two Luv-a-Bears, and even Kermit and PeeWee. Maybe we’ll get a chance to introduce you to all of them someday.

Right now, though, take a good look at my hat! Notice how the pink in the hat makes my braids look even pinker? I love having pink braids! Miss Chrissy did a good job giving me some beauty treatments so my hair looks pinker now than it has in a long time.

Having pink hair makes me feel pretty. And wearing this hat makes me feel pretty. So there! I hope you like my hat as much as I do.

TESSAVATARpat2Hi, everyone! This is Tessie again. A little while ago Trixie told you all about her crush on Thor, and I like Thor too, of course, but I wouldn’t say I have a CRUSH on him. I mean, he’s not even a real person, so how can you have a crush on him? Trixie’s funny like that. She lives in a fantasy world a lot of the time. It’s a nice place to visit, but I wouldn’t want to live there on a constant basis. Mostly, I like to come out into the real world and take a look around at some of the REAL boys that are available to have a crush on.

So that’s why I’m here now, to tell you all about a boy I think is super cute. Actually, he’s not so much of a boy anymore, since he was a teenager when he started making music for over ten years, and technically nobody gets to be a boy for THAT long…though he still IS a boy, because he’s part of the group… Fall Out Boy!

No, I am NOT talking about Pete Wenz. I know a lot of girls think he’s really cute, and in a way he is, but I don’t really like his attitude. If you ask me, most of the time he acts like he’s so FULL OF HIMSELF (if you know what I mean). Uck! That is not attractive at all!

No, instead, I like Patrick Stump, the lead singer of Fall Out Boy. He writes most of their music AND he’s a terrific singer, his voice is SO beautiful! I could just listen to his voice all day long.

I especially like him in some of the FOB (that’s short for “Fall Out Boy”) videos on You Tube. If you’ve never seen him singing, you should check him out in videos like this one, Sugar We’re Going Down (which actually has a really funny but meaningful story to it).

Go ahead and watch it! It’s really fun! Patrick is the lead singer, in the blue shirt, and the first time I saw this video I thought “Oh! He has so much energy!” It think that’s what I first liked about him, all that energy.

And then I liked him in this video for the FOB song, America’s Suitehearts,

Wow! What a crazy feast of colors and wild and weird images! Patrick is the one in yellow. He looks good, but I do have to admit, Pete’s costume in this one, with the teeth and the collar, is exceptionally good. How do they come up with this stuff?

Anyway, getting back to Patrick…just take a look at all these pictures! He is so cute, isn’t he? (And I love that he always wears a hat!)

But here’s a funny thing about Patrick (at least it seems this way to me). Sometimes he looks really really cute, so cute I almost can’t stand it. But then there are other pictures of him where he doesn’t look good at all. You see, a long time ago he was really pudgy. A little pudge is cute, but too pudgy is just FAT, and that doesn’t look good on anyone. (I don’t want to show you any picture of him when he’s fat, because I only want you to see how cute he is.)

Then, when Fall Out Boy split up, he lost a lot of weight…I mean a LOT of weight, and he did some silly thing with his hair where it’s super-duper blonde, and sticking straight up, and you know what? He doesn’t even look like himself at all!

When you look at all his pictures, it’s sort of like he’s three different people. But wait! Let me take this one step further: he kind of reminds me of The Three Bears. You know the story: the porridge is too hot, the patrick-infinity-high-heart--large-msg-117077964649porridge is too cold….but then there’s porridge that is JUST RIGHT…Sometimes Patrick looks too fat, and sometimes he looks too skinny…but sometimes, he’s just in between…JUST RIGHT… and that’s the best. And he looks so cute.

And he’s a talented songwriter too. And a terrific singer. But I mentioned all that already, didn’t I?Miss Chrissy has all the Fallout Boy CD’s, including their new one from when the band just got back together, and there are some super great songs on those CD’s, and also some really cute pictures of all the guys in the band. This one here is my favorite picture of Patrick. It’s from their CD, Infinity on High. He looks so dreamy…don’t you think?

Sigh…

Well, anyway, like I said, he’s not really a boy anymore, I think he’s almost THIRTY and that’s ANCIENT!!! Back in the 1960’s (where us Whimsies are from) there was a saying ā€œNever trust anyone over thirty.ā€ Well, I beg to differ. There are many people over thirty who are totally worth trusting. (Don’t believe everything that came out of the ā€˜60’s!) And I will always trust Patrick Stump with my heart, because he is so talented, and so cute.

Many many thanks to Miss Chrissy, for having Fall Out Boy music for us to listen to!
