LOOKING AT THE WORLD THROUGH ROSE-COLORED GLASSES

GLASSESTRIXIETessie, Tillie and I have tried wearing glasses now and then, but somehow we can’t seem to do it with as much style as this beautiful Whimsie. I call her “beautiful” because I can think of no better word to describe her. Everything about her is just perfect!

Of course the first thing you notice is those adorable rose-colored glasses. It’s often said that when someone is seeing only the good in everything, they are looking at the world through “rose-colored glasses.” Is that what this Whimsie is doing? Is she turning a blind eye to everything in the world that might be difficult, uncomfortable or just plain bad? Well, if so, she’s none the worse for wear! Having only the most pleasant thoughts and opinions as seen through her rose-colored glasses is causing her to have the widest smile, rosiest cheeks, and brightest, smoothest skin. A pleasant attitude is one of life’s most fabulous beauty treatments. So I say…bring on those rose-colored glasses!

Next, you have to notice thick gorgeous brunette hair. I mean…how can you NOT notice? It’s not often you see a Whimsie with brunette hair, or with this much hair. I sort of think perhaps this Whimsie was not actually born with this gorgeous chunk of hair, but that it came to her later in life, perhaps through the industry of some enterprising beautician. Her hair is so thick and healthy, she easily manages not one but two very long, thick ropey braids. And there does not seem to be even a single rough spot along her hairline! This is easily the most stunning hair I have ever seen on a Whimsie. I would be jealous, if I wasn’t so much in awe.

Finally we notice our girl is wearing a very simple yet extremely appropriate green summer dress, with a small detail of appliquéd flowers. Nothing fancy here, but this dress blends so well with her rose-colored glasses and the white satin ribbons of her braids. All in all, she looks so totally comfortable, and happy to be a Whimsie, enjoying the cool of a fine late Summer afternoon.

Tessie, Tillie and I also enjoy the cool of a fine late Summer afternoon, but unlike this Whimsie, we do not get to see it though rose-colored glasses. I will ask Miss Chrissy to continue to keep her eyes open for lovely glasses like this for us to wear, so I can test my theory that the more pleasantly you see, the better you look as well. It seems to be working for this Whimsie, and I think it could work for us too.
