Miss Chrissy recently went on a week’s vacation to Florida. We missed her, but knew we would be perfectly fine without her for a short while. The Man had no trouble taking care of us…but then, that’s because we Whimsies are extremely easy-going! So undemanding!
The Man watched a lot of Horror Movies while Miss Chrissy was gone, since she does not like them and he does, and this was his chance to do what he wanted to do without making her have to worry about having nightmares. We don’t like Horror Movies either (or nightmares), so we mostly we kept to ourselves in our own room, watching Star Wars movies instead, while we organized our Wardrobe. Because we knew Miss Chrissy was sure to bring us back lots of nice, new clothes from the Florida Thrift Store Boutiques!
And she did! Here we are in just a few of our new pieces.
As you can see, I’m wearing a denim dress, with a large Peter Pan collar, covered with embroidered flowers. There’s something so lovely about the combination of denim—which is rugged and athletic—with the delicate detail of embroidered flowers! I kept the shoes on with this outfit, since Tillie and Tessie didn’t really need shoes for their outfits. They are dressed much more casually, in clothes you would probably only ever wear hanging around the house.
For instance: Tessie is up front in this picture, all in pink and lilac. You’ll recognize the spotted elephant shirt as an existing piece from our Wardrobe, but here she’s paired it with some new polka dot pink stretch pants, and a cute little gingham hat. All right…you might want to wear this hat outside, in the Summertime. But for right now, Tess has chosen to hang about at home, in her soft, cute, comfortable outfit and pink socks! I think the lilac color really brightens up Tessie’s complexion and makes her look so pretty, don’t you?
Tillie is trying out a new color—dark blue! Her new long-sleeved shirt is covered with little white flowers, and what could possibly be more comfortable than gray sweatpants? Everyone’s Wardrobe should include at least one pair of gray sweatpants! And now ours does. Tillie is also wearing a new dark gray woolen hat. This hat might in fact be a little too warm for our current “Springtime is Springing” weather, but Tillie looks so good in it, who could begrudge her a woolen hat?
We got a few more Boutique items from Florida, but two are gorgeous Christmas dresses, so we won’t be showing you those for a while. Also: a new pair of shorts, but these are not yet weather-appropriate, so we’ll have to wait to debut those as well. But with Spring springing up all around us, that will be soon…very soon!
We’re glad Miss Chrissy had a good time in Florida. Yes, we missed her, but got along perfectly fine without her…at least for a short time. Poor Mr. Squee, though! He’s not as adaptable as us Whimsies. Any little change to his schedule and he freaks out! The Man was very good to Mr. Squee, feeding him extra-large meals and plenty of catnip, but feeling out-of-sorts, our brave Dogcatcher spent a lot of time huddled up in his Box House. He didn’t get any new clothes from Florida (because of course Mr. Squee does not wear clothes!) but Miss Chrissy gave him lots of hugs and kisses when she got back—as she did also to The Man…and also to us!
