Tomorrow the clocks “Spring Ahead” for Daylight Savings Time, and it’s just in time! Because suddenly the weather has taken a turn for the better—if by ‘better” you mean that we can now go outside in some of the pretty warm weather dresses Miss Chrissy has been buying for us all Winter long.
It was my turn to wear the shoes, and I wanted to get outside in the fresh air, and so I chose a sleeveless plaid dress of blue and green and violet, with blue and green socks that pretty much match it perfectly!
Also, you’ll notice I’m posing by a pinwheel. I love pinwheels! Miss Chrissy got pinwheels for this part of Whimsieville, so it will help scare away the birds, so Mr. Squee can go out and sun himself without being bothered. In the Spring, there are certain kinds of birds that build their nests and sit on eggs and get very nervous if someone of Mr. Squee’s persuation gets anywhere near their babies, and they dive at him and try to scare him away. It makes Mr. Squee uneasy, as well as the birds, so the thinking here is to just avoid the situation altogether, if possible. In anticipation of Spring, Miss Chrissy has put out the pinwheels, hoping those birds will decide to build their nests elsewhere, and leave Mr. Squee alone.
As you can see, it’s not quite Spring yet. The grass in Whimsieville is still asleep or dead (I still haven’t decided which…) but soon it will start raining a lot, and then the grass will come back, and be very, very green. Even greener than the green in my socks and the pinwheel! It’s a gradual process, but I don’t know if I can wait that long!
Don’t I look absolutely ready to go off picking daisies?
Come,Spring!
I’m ready, I’m ready!
