I was waiting for Tillie, trying to give her a chance to share one of her favorite Whimsies with you, but then she got all distracted by the Cowsills, and in the meantime, I found the Whimsie pictured above, and just couldn’t wait any longer! I have to say something about this Poor Dear!
Oh my! Look at her! She’s so pretty, but obviously NOT Well Taken Care Of. Actually, note the pretty pink ribbons in her hair—pretty, but now sadly drooping. At some point, somebody must have cared enough about her to dress her up and make her pretty, but somehow she has now fallen on hard times, and her life is not what it once was. And why is there a pink yarn around her neck? Is that a dreadful attempt at Fashion? Or something more sinister? I shudder to think about it…
Oh, how sad! It makes me want to cry, just looking at her. I think perhaps she reminds me too much of what I once was, before I found my way here to Whimsieville—so lost and forlorn, having nobody to care for me. It just breaks my heart to think of any Whimsie remaining in that state for too long.
This Poor Dear reminds me of the orphans from Annie, when they sing “It’s a Hard Knock Life For Us.” You could easily imagine her in that band of ragamuffin little girls, sweeping and mopping floors, scrubbing windows, cleaning toilets….BLEAH!!! How horrible!
I feel so sorry for this Whimsie. I wish we could find her and adopt her and bring her home to live with us in Whimsieville, so she could be cleaned up and have some lovely Beauty Treatments and become as beautiful as we can see she really is under that dirty face and messy hair. I must talk to Miss Chrissy about the possibility of opening the gates of Whimsieville to other poor Whimsies who need someone to love them and Take Care Of them, and who would love to have Good Friends like me, and Tillie and Tessie. We are so blessed here in Whimsieville, and I would love to share that blessing with others, like this Poor Dear…
