Hi, everyone! Our plan for today was to go through our Wardrobe and find our prettiest Sprngtime dresses and do a Fashion Show for you. Yesterday was so lovely, and that was when we got the idea, but then our day got busy and we never got around to it, so we said, “Oh, well…there’s always tomorrow.” And now here it is…today…which is yesterday’s “tomorrow,” and yes the day has come as expected, but the Weatherman had different plans for this day. It does not feel at all like Springtime! It’s been raining since the moment we woke up, and we have not seen the sun at all. Miss Chrissy’s poor plants haven’t had a drop of sunshine all day, though she is still keeping the window blinds open, offering them a sort of dreary brightness (which is better than nothing, and truth be told, has its own particular charm).
As for us, of course we are disappointed that it isn’t right today for those Springtime dresses, but we are Whimsies, and if there’s one thing that Whimsies are, it’s flexible! So we got a new idea! Yes, it’s Springtime, and we want to honor the Springtime color of GREEN, but since we’ve been hanging out in the house all day watching movies, just lounging around, we thought it would be best to show off some of our favorite Springtime JAMMIES! So here they are, and as you’ll see, each of us has a Fashion Show explanation for our choices.
First, here is the lovely Miss Trixie, dressed in a jammie outfit she likes to call “Froggie Fun.” As you’ll notice, the footies of Miss Trixie’s jammies are cute little frog faces! And the green and white terrycloth stripes seem just perfect, and perfectly comfortable, for a fine Spring day hanging out among the lillypads with the froggies, or…hanging out at home with your friends, watching movies! On the upper left of the outfit there is another little green frog, with the words “Cute As Can Be!” Oh, and isn’t Miss Trixie simply cute as can be in her “Froggie Fun” jammies!
Next, let’s take a look at Tillie, who has called her jammie outfit “Berry Sweet”—because that’s what it says around the large pink strawberry on her left hip, and also because Tillie herself is, in fact, Berry Sweet! You’ll notice how fun and lively all those big white polka dots look on the lovely green cotton backdrop. Miniature white polka dots in a field of pink surround her neck, her wrists, and the bottom of her feet! Yes, these are footie pajamas, but there will be very little walking about when wearing this jammie, since it is just perfect for lounging around the house on a rainy Spring day.
Now, finally, let’s have a look at the outfit I’ve chosen. I call it “Flower Power” because all these bright and colorful flowers against a white cotton background are making such a bold statement for the power of flowers to brighten one’s mood, even when the sun won’t shine all day. I’ve paired these jammies with some comfy pink socks to keep my tootsies warm. Oh, and one more thing you’ll notice about all of us. Snap, snap, snap! We’re all wearing snaps! Such a practical and unobtrusive way to keep our jammies in place.
Well, that’s our Fashion Show. Hope you like our jammies! Hope you are all wishing you could be a Whimsie too, so you also could wear such comfy and wonderful clothes as we always do! Back to our movies, but before we go, here’s one more shot of all of us, hanging out with our favorite Dogcatcher, Mr. Squee. You’ll notice Mr. Squee has chosen to wear his fashionably soft fur coat in a hue of dark, dark brown, so brown it almost looks black! But don’t let Mr. Squee fool you! Thought he looks so comfortable among the blankets and pillows and all his Whimsie friends, and looks as if he doesn’t give a hoot about Springtime or Fashion, he too is getting into the spirit of Spring, by just barely letting you see the lovely GREEN color of his cat eyes!

As we’ve been mentioning for a couple of weeks now, Spring is beginning to spring around here, and with that we’ve been getting a lot of rain in Whimsieville, and with that, the grass has been growing quite a bit. And it’s growing GREEN, which is such a delight to see, after months and months of dry, dead brown grass.
But gratefully, due to the early hour, there was not much activity on that front.
Miss Chrissy recently went on a week’s vacation to Florida. We missed her, but knew we would be perfectly fine without her for a short while. The Man had no trouble taking care of us…but then, that’s because we Whimsies are extremely easy-going! So undemanding!
As you can see, I’m wearing a denim dress, with a large Peter Pan collar, covered with embroidered flowers. There’s something so lovely about the combination of denim—which is rugged and athletic—with the delicate detail of embroidered flowers! I kept the shoes on with this outfit, since Tillie and Tessie didn’t really need shoes for their outfits. They are dressed much more casually, in clothes you would probably only ever wear hanging around the house.
We got a few more Boutique items from Florida, but two are gorgeous Christmas dresses, so we won’t be showing you those for a while. Also: a new pair of shorts, but these are not yet weather-appropriate, so we’ll have to wait to debut those as well. But with Spring springing up all around us, that will be soon…very soon!
A few weeks ago, I reported how I put on a Winter coat and our new shoes to head outside to listen to the first birds of Springtime. Today was the official first day of Spring, and the weather was so beautiful, and so Spring-like, that we asked Miss Chrissy if we might go outside, and she readily agreed. Miss Chrissy was hanging some towels to dry in the bright sunshine, so we figured if that sunshine was good enough for towels, it was good enough for us as well!
