Trixie got to showcase our new blue jammies, and before that Tessie modeled red and pink striped jammies, so now it’s my turn! And can you believe it? I’m wearing YELLOW jammies! Yes, honestly, I kid you not…yellow!
Once or twice before it’s been mentioned on this blog that we Whimsies have always held the belief that nobody looks good in yellow, and so when Miss Chrissy goes out to the Thrift Store Boutique, we ask her to please, please, please don’t buy us anything in yellow. And up till now, she’s listened to us, and hasn’t come back with any yellow clothes. But today, when she made a trip to the Boutique, she found this cute little yellow jammie, and decided to buy it for us, since it was the right size (NB) and was On Sale, for a Very Good Price. Worse case scenario, on her next visit to the Boutique she would have to return it for something more…appropriate.
But there will be no return of these jammies. I’m glad she took a chance, because, once we all got over the horror of seeing yellow clothing, I decided to be brave and try on the jammie, and instantly realized how ridiculous we’ve all been for so long for avoiding the color yellow. Not only does this jammie feel just as comfortable as any of our others, but I also think I look pretty darn good in it! It took Tessie and Trixie a little while, but eventually, they had to agree. They even both said that they can’t wait for their chance to try on this jammie!
Now, I will admit, this shade of yellow is very pale and pretty, so it works perfectly for a jammie, sort of like soft rays of sunshine sneaking through the bedroom window when you’re just about to wake up on a Saturday morning. If these jammies had been Bright Yellow, or Electric Yellow, or worse yet, Neon Yellow, I probably wouldn’t be feeling so friendly towards the idea of yellow jammies. But these jammies are just perfect.
So! What is the end result? We now have a new pair of jammies, in a color that we’ve never worn before. The world is getting bigger and more beautiful all the time! I love trying new things, learning new things.
What could possibly be next? Maybe Tessie and Trixie will take a tiny baby step outside their comfort zone and decide that they’re willing to watch even a minute or two of Too Cute! – Puppies?
I won’t hold my breath. But stranger things have happened.

Yesterday Trixie told you about the Oggz we got from Santa Claus, and today I’m here to tell you about another present—socks! We didn’t ask for the Oggz, because we never knew there was such a thing, but of course we know all about socks, and so we asked Santa to bring us lots and lots of pretty, comfy socks…and he did!

Tomorrow Tillie will stop by to tell you about another really cool gift we got. But before I go, here’s one more Christmas gift I want to share. It was not for me and Tillie and Trixie, but for Fred and Wilma, Barney and Betty. Santa brought our pet dinosaurs a good supply of succulent jade leaves, which are so sweet, they are like candy for dinosaurs! As you can see, the four dinos are thoroughly enjoying their snack in their new home.
Christmas is getting very close now, and tonight we took a break from our TV Christmas specials and Santa Claus stake-out to read an old favorite Christmas book.
she saw the cute little green polka dot jammies Miss Chrissy had for her to wear. As you can see, the strawberries among the polka dots declare that Tillie is “Berry Sweet”! How cute!
Trixie put together another “Pretty in Pink” outfit, this one also sporting polka dots on the footie pants, as well as polka dots on a sleepy-eyed elephant! Whoever heard of a brown and white polka dot elephant? Not me! But he certainly looks contented. And I love the flowers on his ears!
Miss Chrissy confessed that she did not remember this book from her childhood, since at the time, she was a strict devotee of Dr. Seuss and Beverly Cleary. She only came across Mr. Willowby when her own children (who are now grown) were little, and loved to read everything they could get their hands on —Seuss, Cleary, Willowby, Sendak, Scarry, Curious George, Berenstain Bears and Goosebumps, to name a few. The list goes on and on!
adopted by some bears, who snip the top, which ends up going to the Fox family, and the tippy-top of their tree makes the Rabbit family very happy, but it’s too tall for their mantle so they snip-snip, and little Mistletoe Mouse takes that snip to his house, and it’s just perfect for his family! And what do you know? The Mouse family lives in a mouse hole in the baseboard of Mr. Willowby’s enormous house, right next to Mr. Willowby’s enormous Christmas tree.
Hey, everyone! Tessie here! And as you can see, we are having our Christmas Hair Ribbon Fashion Show! I think we mentioned last time that Miss Chrissy is having a hard time finding Christmas clothes for us that don’t say “Baby’s First Christmas,” so we decided to get creative with our Christmas spirit and concentrate on Christmas-ifying our hairstyles with some pretty red velvet ribbons.
Now, here’s Trixie, and as you can see, she is finally getting to wear the red and pink striped jammie, which is so soft and comfortable, and since there are no feet on it, she is also wearing some pink socks (though you can’t see that in this picture, but you can see the socks in the Group Portrait below). We all have to be covering up our feet these days, and wearing long sleeves, because it’s been exceptionally COLD! It’s not actually cold cold in Whimsieville, but it just feels cooler than usual. But Miss Chrissy and the The Man will often run the fireplace, so that makes us toasty warm when we need it.
Tillie had a little trouble figuring out how to work her Christmas ribbon, and the problem it seems, is that she has SO MUCH HAIR!! Can you imagine? I sometimes wish I had long beautiful hair like Tillie, but then when I see how difficult it was for her to find a way to wear her Christmas ribbon, it occurred to me that every kind of hair style has its pluses and minuses. Tillie first tried pulling her hair back in one big ponytail, which is great, but you really can’t see her ribbon so well like that. So later, she decided to go back to her usual hairstyle, which is to let her long beautiful hair hang down her back, held back by a headband.
