Hi! Tessie here. Welcome to our website! Who ever thought Whimsies could have a website, right? The world is an amazing place, isn’t it? I think so.
Anyway, glad to have you on board, and I’m going to kick things off with a short discussion about one of my favorite topics: FASHION!!
For many many years I didn’t know all that much about fashion. I’ve lived most of my life in the same pink dress, and after so long, it got pretty ratty looking. When I came back to live with Miss Chrissy, she tried washing that old dress, but there was only so much she could do, and besides, it still had holes and rips. Right now that old ratty dress is stuffed away in a storage facility here in Whimsieville, and if I never see that dress again, that will be just fine with me!
And why would I want to wear that same old dress for years and years on end, when there are so many beautiful and comfortable clothes out there in the world?
As you can see by this picture, when I came back to Miss Chrissy, my dress was not the only thing that was dirty. But I got a good bath, and Miss Chrissy gave me some really comfortable PJ’s to wear. They were so soft and nice, I never wanted to take them off. I think I must have lived in those PJ’s for a week at least, lol!
Living in PJ’s is a fun idea, but eventually you want to try out some different kinds of clothes. Miss Chrissy has been great about going out shopping to get nice things for me and the other Whimsies. It seems like a lot of what she brings back is PINK. She tells us…Well…it’s either pink, or BLUE. Now, I have nothing against blue. I like blue! And I also have nothing against pink, I like pink, in fact I think I would have to say pink is absolutely one of my favorite colors in the world. But I like ALL the colors in the world and want to wear them all!
Well, except for maybe…yellow…Trixie says nobody looks good in yellow, and you know what? I think she might be right about that. That’s okay, though. I think I could get by fine without yellow clothes.
But the problem, I think—getting back to the pink and blue issue– is that because us Whimsies are so small, there’s a limited amount of clothes available for us to wear, and with that comes a limited amount of colors as well. Miss Chrissy says a lot of the clothes she finds for us look like they are clothes for BABIES, and pardon me, but we are NOT babies!! We are NOT going to wear anything with pictures of little rattles and bottles all over them. Ugh! No way!!
So far, though, Miss Chrissy has found us some cute outfits, so let’s start off this Fashion Parade with just a few of our new looks. You already saw me in that awful old dress, and in my blue and white PJ’s, but how about this cute outfit in red and purple? SOOOO comfortable!! I could wear this all day!
And here’s Tillie with another look. She calls this her “Beatnik” dress. Haha! Well, it kind of fits, because sometimes Tillie does act like a beatnik. I think she looks good in black, don’t you?
Trixie does not like yellow, and she does not like black either. I was just complaining about too many things in pink, but Trixie LOVES pink. She feels it really brightens up her sallow complexion. Miss Chrissy has given Trixie a number of Beauty Treatments, and that’s really helped to brighten her up, but nothing brightens you up like a pretty pink dress!
When Trixie came to Whimsieville from The Hoard she was wearing a dress that was just way too small for her. It was a dress for a DOLL! Can you imagine??? I don’t know who put her in that dress, but I feel so sorry for her having to put up with that awful uncomfortable thing for so long. After Trixie got her bath, Miss Chrissy didn’t even bother to try to wash and save that dress, she just threw it away. And good riddance!
So here’s Trixie in a pink and white dress, looking very festive, don’t you think? It’s a little big for her, but after spending so many years stuck in that too tight and too small dress, she seems to prefer wearing clothes that are a little on the loose side.
One thing all us Whimsies agree on, clothes and fashion are all about COMFORT!! Yeah, there are really pretty clothes we COULD wear that are all frilly and binding and elaborate. NO THANK YOU! The first thing fashion should do is make you FEEL good. After that, if you also happen to look good, well, that’s great too! But I don’t see how anyone could possibly look good if they don’t also feel good.
That’s my fashion philosophy. I hope to meet with you many many times to show you some more of our new Whimsical fashions. Miss Chrissy is rapidly filling up drawers and straw bags with all kinds of fantastic fashions, so there should be lots for me and Trixie and Tillie to wear, and to write about! Can’t wait to meet with you again soon, and show you some more of our great outfits!
