In the last Fashion post, Trixie promised that Fall Fashions would be featured next time around. But when the Whimsies went through the latest haul from The Thrift Store Boutique, we found there was not as much Fall fashion as originally thought. Oh, well! Guess I’ll have to make another visit to the Boutique to find the girls some more outfits to wear as the weather begins to cool off.
But before I do that, some of the new clothes did indeed please the Whimsies so much that Adventure was inspired! It all started with this hat, which has a funny little patch on the front, and upon closer inspection we realized the patch says “Dino Club.” Well, this got the Whimsies talking about various dinosaurs they had known in The Hoard, and what wonderful pets dinosaurs can be. The three girls started to get a bit nostalgic for the idea of a pet. I explained that Mr. Squee is our pet, but they said no, no, no—Mr. Squee is the Dogcatcher, and their Protector. They don’t see him at all as a pet.
Tillie put on the Dino Club hat and got the idea that the three of them ought to go out on a Dinosaur Hunting Expedition. She dressed all in browns and dark green, with that Dino Hat perched jauntily atop her head and asked “Who’s with me?”
Well, Tessie decided she was up for some Adventure, as long as Mr. Squee might accompany them, to protect against any possible dogs or wolves they might encounter along the way. Tessie dressed herself in Tillie’s black beatnik dress, rolled it up over some black pants, and added a soft black hat, with orange and gray stripes. She giggled about her outfit, saying she felt more like a Cat Burglar than a Hunter, but happily pranced off with Tillie and Mr. Squee to look for dinosaurs.
Frankly, I was amazed that Tessie was being so bold. I thought her fear of dogs and wolves would keep her from ever leaving Whimsieville, but she surprised me. Perhaps she is not as timid as I had at first imagined, or perhaps she simply possesses an incredible amount of faith in Mr. Squee’s ability to keep them safe. And as you can see here, Mr. Squee was fully on alert while leading the girls on their Expedition.
Trixie, on the other hand, decided against the adventure, for she had found among the Fall Fashions this lovely pink, lilac and white ensemble of soft comfortable clothing, and declared that this outfit was just perfect for hanging around the house. She added the purple socks we already had in the Wardrobe, and decided to settle herself down in front of the bedroom television, for a lazy Sunday afternoon of watching movies.
I myself was feeling more inclined to Relaxation than Adventure, and so Trixie and I stayed in and watched a movie while Tillie and Tessie went out into the World, hunting dinosaurs.
And lo and behold! What do you think? They returned after only a couple of hours with a dinosaur in tow! The dinosaur’s name is Fred, and he gladly agreed to accompany them after hearing their many tales of Whimsieville, and how safe and wonderful a place it is. It appears Fred is also afraid of dogs and wolves, for he is only a Miniature Dinosaur, and not very adept at protecting himself. After a few words with Mr. Squee, Fred felt confident that Whimsieville could provide him with the stress-free environment he has been seeking for so long.
And so we welcome into Whimsieville the Whimsies’ new pet dinosaur, Fred. He is quiet and polite, not at all what you might expect of a dinosaur. He does not eat Kibble or Fancy Feast, so Mr. Squee doesn’t feel threatened by his presence. Fred the Dinosaur only eats blades of grass and leaves from trees, so it is no problem at all to keep him fed and happy. So far, the Whimsies are enjoying going outside each day to gather food for their new pet, and making sure he has plenty of fresh grape juice to drink. Now, I don’t know if most dinosaurs generally enjoy grape juice, but Fred is a big fan, and since I can see how happy he makes the Whimsies, I am perfectly willing to share my grape juice with him. Besides, since he is only a Miniature Dinosaur, he does not really drink a lot.
In other news, while Tillie and Tessie were out Dinosaur Hunting, the movie Trixie and I watched together was Twilight. At first Trixie had some trepidation about Twilight, for she had heard enough about it to know that werewolves enter into the storyline, but when I assured her no werewolves are seen until the second movie in the Twilight series, she was anxious to see the first movie. It seems little Miss Trixie has a fascination with Vampires, and she absolutely fell in love with Edward Cullen. But I’m sure she’ll tell you all about that very soon, in her next Favorite Boyfriend post.
That might be a little while, however, for she is spending a good deal of time now, along with Tillie and Tessie, cooing over their new pet Dinosaur. Fred will definitely end up being a pampered pet—even more pampered, I would guess, than our Mr. Squee!
