The weather’s been a bit cold lately, so we’ve been hanging around in our snug Winter jammies, helping Miss Chrissy clean the house for the Holidays. As we’ve been cleaning and organizing, we’ve been running into a lot of stuff that is stuffed deep in closets, but now it’s time to take it out and look it over, and some of it has Seen Better Days and is ready for a trip to The Goodwill Trailer. Some stuff, I say…but not these hats!
As we’ve rummaged through the closets, we ran into quite a collection of People Hats and have decided to model a few of them for you. Usually, us Whimsies like to wear very size-appropriate Whimsical Hats, but we’re stepping outside of our comfort zone to get silly and model these hats which are obviously WAY to big for us…because these are People Hats, and we have Whimsie Heads, and really…it’s just too funny!
First off, take a gander at Tessie, who looks quite fetching in a Summertime straw hat. Yeah, I know she looks extra silly wearing a Summertime straw hat with a pair of jammies, but as I mentioned, it’s COLD, and we didn’t feel like changing our clothes, just because we were trying on hats. But as for Tessie here, as you can see, she has overcome her aversion to yellow jammies, and is wearing them quite well! I think they look exceptionally bright and cheery, with her oversized straw hat.
Now, how about Trixie? Well, we all know what Trixie is like, so it’s no surprise that she has chosen to wear a baseball-type “cap.” This cap has an exceptionally long and large brim, for keeping the sun off your face when you are walking outside. Miss Chrissy used to wear this cap all the time when she went walking, but lately, she has discovered two other defenses against the sun—one: using a treadmill, indoors, or two: walking with a “sunbrella.” So this poor little turquoise cap hasn’t gotten much use lately…until it met Trixie! Yes, it’s WAY too big on her, but don’t think that’s going to stop Trix! If you ask me, I think Trixie and Cap are going to become very best friends from this point on.
Moving on, I’ve saved the best for last! Not necessarily because this is a picture of me, but because I am wearing the most terrific hat of all! This is not one of Miss Chrissy’s hat, but instead, it belongs to The Man, and it is indeed a man’s hat, because it is a replica of the hat that was worn by Indiana Jones in all those Indiana Jones movies. How cool is that? We Whimsies love Indiana Jones movies (especially the first one) because they are so full of spine-tingling adventure! Well…we don’t like any of the parts with spiders …or bats …or snakes …but other than that, those movies are tons of fun! And that’s why I get such a kick out of wearing an Indiana Jones hat! And don’t you think it looks just lovely paired with my blue polar bear jammies?
I TOLD you this was going to be silly! But then, if you can’t get silly and have fun with hats, when can you get silly and have fun??
