After our upsetting experience this past Tuesday, watching the latest episode of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, everyone has been in sort of a funk for a few days. But then last night, I happened to mention that Thanksgiving is a week away, and despite their meloncholy, each Whimsie spoke fondly of Thanksgiving memories and traditions, really warming up to the idea of celebrating a holiday. They got the idea that they each wanted to write down all the things they are thankful for. I thought that was a splendid idea, sure to brighten the mood.
And sure enough it did! When I got back to Whimsieville this evening, all three girls were buzzing and chattering about their lists, anxious to post their Thanks for all the world to see. Of course many of the items on their lists are the same for all three, but after the obvious, they each branch off into some very particular observations that show, in my opinion, great thoughtfulness and maturity.
And so, without further ado, we present “A Whimsie Thanksgiving.”

TRIXIE
I am thankful that…
- I have such good friends and get to live in Whimsieville where everything is safe and comfortable.
- Miss Chrissy has given me so many Beauty Treatments, so now I am clean and have pretty pink hair once again.
- My trip to Whimsieville, traveling in a box, was not as scary as I at first thought it would be.
- I didn’t drown completely in that swimming pool. Sure, I had a terrible experience, but it’s over, and life goes on. In a way I’m glad I can’t even remember the bad brother’s name. I don’t want to think about him anymore.
- So many of the clothes in our size (NB) are PINK! I love pink!
- The Man here in Whimsieville is a BIG fan of Marvel Comics, just like me! That means there are so many cool comics and books about comics, and also lots of movies based on comics.
- There are lots and lots of comfortable blankets here in Whimsieville.
- Fred is happy again.
- Thor. Need I say more??
- Fun time with friends, playing games!
- My body doesn’t have rips and tears in it, like some of the poor Whimsies I see at the E-Bay Adoption Agency. Ooooh! It makes me so sad to see them, and I wonder if they’re ever going to find someone to love them and give them a good home. It makes me sad for them, but it also makes me glad for me and Tessie and Tillie that we don’t have to worry about such things for ourselves.
- Miss Chrissy let us all dress up for Halloween. That was fun!
- Even though we Whimsies do not eat turkey and all the Thanksgiving fixin’s, we can still celebrate Thanksgiving by telling everyone what we are thankful for, right here on our very own website.

TESSIE
I am thankful that…
- Miss Chrissy made the effort to find me and bring me to Whimsieville.
- Trixie and Tillie are my friends.
- Miss Chrissy is my best friend.
- There are no dogs or wolves in Whimsieville!
- The sun comes up every morning.
- I have nice clothes to wear now, and don’t have to always be in that dirty old ripped dress I had to wear for so many years.
- I don’t have to live in The Hoard anymore!
- Mr. Squee is very good at his job.
- The wolves only bit off my earlobe and not my whole ear.
- Fred found his friends. I didn’t like seeing him so sad.
- For socks, because they make your toes feel so warm and comfortable.
- Miss Chrissy has an extensive library of books and music and movies to keep us entertained!
- The internet has a lot of good stuff on it, if you just know where to look.
- Miss Chrissy bought me those angel wings at The Dollar Store Boutique. That was so much fun dressing up like an angel. But I wish I could really grant wishes with that magic wand. If I could, I would make Trixie forget all about Abigail and her horrible brother. I would also make myself forget all about being afraid of dogs and wolves, because sometimes I think that if I wasn’t so afraid of dogs, it would be nice to have a puppy, if it was kind and well-behaved, and didn’t end up getting too big.

TILLIE
I am thankful that…
- I am a Whimsie, and live in Whimsieville with all my best friends in the world.
- We all have soft jammies to wear.
- Mr. Squee is such a good dog catcher, and a great protector, and also very soft and doesn’t mind sitting with us and purring loudly.
- Trixie and Tessie no longer have to worry about terrible things happening to them, because we all feel safe here in Whimsieville.
- Jennifer was a good friend to me for many years, even though in the later years, she stopped paying attention to me. I’m grateful that she put me up on a top shelf in her room with a TV and radio, so I could still enjoy watching and listening to things, instead of being stuffed in the bottom of box or bag. That would have been horrible. It was sad to not be her best friend anymore, but at least she wasn’t mean to me.
- Here in Whimsieville we have lots of hats to wear! I love hats!
- Miss Chrissy not only allowed us to have a pet dinosaur, but also allowed our pet dinosaur to have his friends come live here with him!
- Even though The Hoard was a terrible place to live, at least it was the kind of Hoard that had a lot of good books in it, not the kind that had rats and bugs.
- The E-Bay Adoption Agency is still up and running, helping other homeless Whimsies find a place where they can be loved and cared for.
- Mr. Squee has catnip to enjoy, because it’s so funny to watch him rolling around in it!
- The birds that come to the seed feeders in Whimsieville. They’re also fun to watch.
- Football for Miss Chrissy and The Man to enjoy on Saturdays. They work hard all week and deserve a day of rest (though I often wonder how all that jumping up and down and yahoo-ing can possibly be restful!)

here in Whimsieville? We put the question to him, and at first he grew extremely quiet, and then slowly, he began to cry. And if you have never seen a dinosaur cry before, then you don’t know the full meaning of the word SAD.
“It’s not for us to forgive you,” we told him. “It’s for your friends to forgive you.”

We Whimsies enjoyed our Halloween costumes so much that we did not want to take them off for several days after Halloween. But we soon found it was difficult to sleep—me, with my torso stuffed fat with plastic bags, Tessie with wings, and Trixie with that eye patch that kept falling down over her eye and making her all “cockeyed.” So finally we decided it was time to get back to reality, and get back into some nice comfortable clothes.
I’ll go first, since Fred the Dinosaur is also anxious to make another appearance on the blog. As you can see here, I am wearing a one piece snap-up pajammie in gray with red collar and cuffs, but if you take a really close look, you can see that the theme is…DINOSAURS!! This is probably an outfit that was meant for little boys to wear, but I don’t care. I like it, it feels good, and Fred has been exceptionally affectionate towards me every since I put on these pajammies. In fact, I would say lately he’s been acting a little “clingy.” I hope there’s nothing wrong with him, I hope it is only that he enjoys the softness and the images on my new gray dinosaur pajammies.
Next, Trixie looks simply lovely in her pink and violet ensemble. You’ve seen these sweatpants before (they were part of the outfit she wore when she watched Twilight and fell in love with Edward Cullen), but the top is new, and doesn’t it just fit her perfectly! What pretty details, with the little bows nestled between the front snaps!
I think, however, after this photo shoot, we should all go and put on some of our nice comfy socks! Our feet are still feeling cold, with our little toes hanging out in the air like that!
In the last Fashion post, Trixie promised that Fall Fashions would be featured next time around. But when the Whimsies went through the latest haul from The Thrift Store Boutique, we found there was not as much Fall fashion as originally thought. Oh, well! Guess I’ll have to make another visit to the Boutique to find the girls some more outfits to wear as the weather begins to cool off.
Tillie put on the Dino Club hat and got the idea that the three of them ought to go out on a Dinosaur Hunting Expedition. She dressed all in browns and dark green, with that Dino Hat perched jauntily atop her head and asked “Who’s with me?”
Frankly, I was amazed that Tessie was being so bold. I thought her fear of dogs and wolves would keep her from ever leaving Whimsieville, but she surprised me. Perhaps she is not as timid as I had at first imagined, or perhaps she simply possesses an incredible amount of faith in Mr. Squee’s ability to keep them safe. And as you can see here, Mr. Squee was fully on alert while leading the girls on their Expedition.
purple socks we already had in the Wardrobe, and decided to settle herself down in front of the bedroom television, for a lazy Sunday afternoon of watching movies.
dogs and wolves, for he is only a Miniature Dinosaur, and not very adept at protecting himself. After a few words with Mr. Squee, Fred felt confident that Whimsieville could provide him with the stress-free environment he has been seeking for so long.
sure he has plenty of fresh grape juice to drink. Now, I don’t know if most dinosaurs generally enjoy grape juice, but Fred is a big fan, and since I can see how happy he makes the Whimsies, I am perfectly willing to share my grape juice with him. Besides, since he is only a Miniature Dinosaur, he does not really drink a lot.
The Whimsies had just changed into some new soft clothes for hanging out around the house (including some “footie” stretch pants and comfy cozy socks in crazy colors), when I caught this candid pic of them together with Mr. Squee.
