We Whimsies enjoyed our Halloween costumes so much that we did not want to take them off for several days after Halloween. But we soon found it was difficult to sleep—me, with my torso stuffed fat with plastic bags, Tessie with wings, and Trixie with that eye patch that kept falling down over her eye and making her all “cockeyed.” So finally we decided it was time to get back to reality, and get back into some nice comfortable clothes.
When we changed clothes, we realized that a number of items we put on were new from The Thrift Store Boutique. So we all looked at each other and exclaimed, “Fashion Show!” We love showing off our many beautiful and comfortable outfits, and sharing them here with you.
I’ll go first, since Fred the Dinosaur is also anxious to make another appearance on the blog. As you can see here, I am wearing a one piece snap-up pajammie in gray with red collar and cuffs, but if you take a really close look, you can see that the theme is…DINOSAURS!! This is probably an outfit that was meant for little boys to wear, but I don’t care. I like it, it feels good, and Fred has been exceptionally affectionate towards me every since I put on these pajammies. In fact, I would say lately he’s been acting a little “clingy.” I hope there’s nothing wrong with him, I hope it is only that he enjoys the softness and the images on my new gray dinosaur pajammies.
Next, Trixie looks simply lovely in her pink and violet ensemble. You’ve seen these sweatpants before (they were part of the outfit she wore when she watched Twilight and fell in love with Edward Cullen), but the top is new, and doesn’t it just fit her perfectly! What pretty details, with the little bows nestled between the front snaps!
You’ll notice that we are now all opting for long sleeves. That is because the weather is finally beginning to get colder here in Whimsieville, and short sleeves are no longer appropriate. Even as I write this, the Household Heat has kicked on in our bedroom, and so we are all feeling quite cosy with our long sleeves, long pants and cuddling on the comfortable blankets.
I think, however, after this photo shoot, we should all go and put on some of our nice comfy socks! Our feet are still feeling cold, with our little toes hanging out in the air like that!
Finally, here is Tessie, and she is wearing a new pair of pants in a pretty perriwinkle, paired with an old familiar shirt you may have seen before. This is a shirt that Miss Chrissy’s children wore when they were little, so it is old, though not as old as us. It is extremely soft, from many many trips through the washing machine and dryer, which makes it a simply delightful piece to wear. The fact that it is steeped in history makes it even more delightful! Miss Chrissy’s children live far away now, so we have not met them yet, though we are hoping to meet them some day. In the meantime, Miss Chrissy frequently sends them pictures of us, whenever she feels we look exceptionally pretty or adorable. (Which is very often!!)
Here’s one picture she will be sending for sure, since both Miss Chrissy’s children are well-acquainted with Mr. Squee and will surely enjoy seeing how he is choosing to keep himself warm and comfortable by cuddling close with us Whimsies. Mr. Squee told us he thought he heard a dog on the perimeters of Whimsieville, so he felt he ought to stay exceptionally close, all the better to guard us. We are certain we did not hear any dogs, but did not say so to Mr. Squee. We think perhaps he got jealous when he saw how Fred the Dinosaur was cuddling with me, and wanted his chance to cuddle as well. Or perhaps he is feeling the cold as much as we are. Mr. Squee, of course, is always wearing his beautiful black fur coat, but he does not care to put on clothes with long sleeves, so cuddling is one easy way to help keep warm. No matter what his motivations, we are always happy to hang out with Mr. Squee.

It all started a few weeks ago when Trixie got the idea to dress up like a pirate. She made such a convincing pirate, that when she heard Halloween was right around the corner, she wanted to wear her outfit again. This time Miss Chrissy added a sassy silver belt to her ensemble. I think she looks great! Trixie thinks she needs a parrot to sit on her shoulder, and she’s been practicing her “Aaarrrgh!” and “Ahoy, Mateys!” I think next she may start singing sea shanties. Trixie loves pretending more than anyone I know.
So, Trixie had already decided she wanted to dress up for Halloween, but what about me and Till? Well, one day when Miss Chrissy returned from The Thrift Store Boutique, she brought home a cute little orange nightshirt with the face of a jack-o-lantern on it. Tillie giggled so much when she saw it and said she always wanted to be a jack-o-lantern, so she and Miss Chrissy talked about it and together they designed the rest of her costume. The pumpkin hat was already in our Hat Collection, and the plain black pants seemed a natural, but to give the jack-o-lantern even more character, they decided to run some elastic around the bottom of the nightshirt, creating a “bag” that could be stuffed to make Tillie the jack-o-lantern look really fat. How funny! Tillie was so fat in front that while we were taking these pictures, she could barely stand up! She kept falling down, and we all kept giggling, but finally we managed to get some nice pictures.
Of course, that leaves me needing a Halloween costume. Going through our Wardrobe, I found this lovely purple lacey skirt and got the idea that I might be a ballerina, or a princess, or a fairy. We also had these beautiful little pink slippers that really seemed to match the skirt. But what else…what else?? When Miss Chrissy visited her other favorite Boutique, The Dollar Store, she found this wonderful tiara (with fur!) and some absolutely whimsical fairy wings that fit me just perfectly! Then she made me a fairy princess wand and what do you know…Tessie the fairy princess!
In the last Fashion post, Trixie promised that Fall Fashions would be featured next time around. But when the Whimsies went through the latest haul from The Thrift Store Boutique, we found there was not as much Fall fashion as originally thought. Oh, well! Guess I’ll have to make another visit to the Boutique to find the girls some more outfits to wear as the weather begins to cool off.
Tillie put on the Dino Club hat and got the idea that the three of them ought to go out on a Dinosaur Hunting Expedition. She dressed all in browns and dark green, with that Dino Hat perched jauntily atop her head and asked “Who’s with me?”
Frankly, I was amazed that Tessie was being so bold. I thought her fear of dogs and wolves would keep her from ever leaving Whimsieville, but she surprised me. Perhaps she is not as timid as I had at first imagined, or perhaps she simply possesses an incredible amount of faith in Mr. Squee’s ability to keep them safe. And as you can see here, Mr. Squee was fully on alert while leading the girls on their Expedition.
purple socks we already had in the Wardrobe, and decided to settle herself down in front of the bedroom television, for a lazy Sunday afternoon of watching movies.
dogs and wolves, for he is only a Miniature Dinosaur, and not very adept at protecting himself. After a few words with Mr. Squee, Fred felt confident that Whimsieville could provide him with the stress-free environment he has been seeking for so long.
sure he has plenty of fresh grape juice to drink. Now, I don’t know if most dinosaurs generally enjoy grape juice, but Fred is a big fan, and since I can see how happy he makes the Whimsies, I am perfectly willing to share my grape juice with him. Besides, since he is only a Miniature Dinosaur, he does not really drink a lot.
It’s the middle of October, but here in Whimsieville, the weather is only just now beginning to cool off. So we have just a few more weeks to wear some of our summer fashions. I thought I’d take a moment to show you some of the beautiful summer clothing Miss Chrissy has found for us at that fashionable boutique she calls The Thrift Store.
Take a look at Tessie here, who’s wearing another fun outfit with some beautiful colors. Of course she’s wearing pink, which is always so easy to find in our “NB” size, but check out her cute little top in turquiose! And that hat is just too much! What a great ensemble! Looks like Tessie and I could head out together for a fun afternoon of shopping and going to the movies!
Tillie chose to go in a slightly different direction for this fashion show. Look at her beautiful white dress with those cute little details of the red checkered flower and ladybug. We Whimsies LOVE ladybugs! They are so whimsical! And how about Tillie’s hat! It keeps the summer sun off her face, and is a perfect frame for her beautiful long hair.

Ahoy, mateys! Trixie here! And today I’m a pirate. AAARRRGH!!! Because Miss Chrissy bought a purse at a yard sale, and this groovy eyepatch was in the bottom. The purse was a cotton bag with a long strap and lots of colors and sparkles on the outside, and Miss Chrissy said someone probably took it to a RenFest. That’s why there was an eyepatch inside. So I asked if I could use the eyepatch, and found this bandana, and put on the striped shirt and behold! Pirate Trixie!!
